Communications and business development lead
at ACME

ACME is hiring a communications and business development lead for the London studio.

ACME is looking for a communications and Bbusiness development lead with a minimum of eight to 10 years of proven experience within the built environment, to work closely with the directors.

About ACME

ACME is a design-led practice working across architecture, urbanism and interior design. With studios in London, Berlin and Madrid, our work spans a wide range of scales and typologies, from complex masterplans to innovative commercial and residential buildings.

What we’re looking for

You will work closely with the directors to lead ACME’s strategic communications and business development plans. You will manage external communications and press releases, oversee bid submissions and develop new work pitches and proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • initiate, oversee and implement communications strategy
  • develop initiatives to support project acquisition and new business
  • oversee the review of tender invitations and lead on all bid submissions
  • lead acquisitions, producing and coordinating technical and commercial proposals
  • produce practice content independently, aligning key strategy with directors
  • manage and nurture client relationships
  • support senior management in building the work pipeline
  • strengthen ACME’s presence in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Asia-Pacific
  • maintain and expand client, consultant and collaborator networks
  • present strategic ideas that distinguish ACME’s point of view
  • lead weekly comms and business development updates to directors
  • facilitate weekly New Work steering group meetings and delegate tasks accordingly

  • runs several simultaneous workstreams from start to finish with limited oversight
  • exceptionally organised, with strong time management and confidence working autonomously
  • confident and accurate in managing and reviewing numbers for fee proposals
  • proactive, reliable, hard-working and flexible
  • skilled in crisis communication and external communications
  • natural ability to form strong working relationships at all levels
  • excellence in English, spoken and written
  • an extensive understanding of architecture and urban planning in the UK, Europe and beyond
  • ability to strategise new business development initiatives
