Professional furniture maker
at Duffy London

Duffy London is seeking a full-time professional furniture maker to join its team.

Duffy London is a design and manufacturing studio based in east London, designing some of the world’s most cutting-edge furniture concepts and design pieces.

Designs are ideas-based, combining art and function whilst playing with the concepts of gravity, geometry and illusion.

We are looking for a new maker to work on all aspects of the Duffy London furniture manufacture process, inclusive of build and shipping to end client, assembly and quality control. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dynamic and above all, a strong team player, working closely with the operations and design team to ensure all projects are produced and delivered on time and to an exceptional quality.

Duffy London designs appear in locations all across the globe and this is a fantastic role to work with International companies, designers and large projects.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • will assist the manufacture of orders from start to finish
  • ordering components and products from manufacturers
  • managing inventory of stock and all associated components
  • preparing all products for shipping and deliveries worldwide within prescribed timeframes
  • will advise on the quality control of each piece that leaves the studio
  • assist with the day to day running of the studio and moving to larger premises
  • work with the operations and design teams to enhance product and company portfolio

Skills and experience:

  • a minimum of two years’ prior experience within a furniture manufacturer
  • wood working, finishing
  • strong spoken and written communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus
  • please provide a portfolio of pieces previously made with application
  • excellent eye for detail while also working to tight schedule across multiple projects

  • a strong eye for detail
  • enthusiastic, ambitious, creative, and punctual
  • ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • a strong team player, able to work within a small dynamic team
  • in line with present UK working requirements, all candidates are required to provide proof of eligibility to work within the UK

Salary will be based on experience.
