The company:

Poliform UK is a design led company based in Kings Road and Wigmore street, London.  Poliform is a leading company with a strong focus on wardrobes, library systems, kitchens and furniture for the entire home. We are currently looking for a design and project coordinator to join the expanding team at the Kings road showroom. 

The role

The role would suit an ambitious and driven person who is looking to become part of a prestigious company and help expand the new bespoke division through positive contribution. 

The role is both technical and administrative and combines design and technical skills with the ability to organise workload efficiently to facilitate the smooth running of projects.

Suitable candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience working on high end projects in a design related project management role and be experienced in preparing drawings, presentations and quotations as well as managing projects from design to completion. The candidate should be a dynamic individual who is adept to working both at the office and on site and be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards. A proactive and flexible approach will be required as the role covers a variety of aspects and phases of project design. 

Duties: 

  • supporting the bespoke design manager in all the tasks and activities to promote the bespoke department  
  • maximising sales by assisting the bespoke department with all tasks 
  • project management 
  • coordination onsite 
  • estimating, collating information from different sources/suppliers to prepare costings 
  • excellent communication skills and analytical thinking
  • ability to integrate information from site to design 
  • ability to prepare detailed reports following site visits and client/team meetings 
  • confidence in reading construction drawings
  • ability to liaise with the professionals involved in the project (architect, supplier, contractor)
  • preparation of design proposals for standard and bespoke productions to highest standards 
  • preparation of technical prints, visuals and presentations 
  • revisions of drawings 
  • preparation of different sets of drawings and information aimed at facilitating the work of specific parties

Responsibilities:

  • to assist the bespoke design manager in all the tasks that are part of the day to day running of projects
  • to assist with costings and quotations 
  • to participate in client meetings and interpreting needs  
  • to liaise with the installation department regarding surveys and installations 
  • to liaise with the accounts department regarding costs
  • to liaise with the factory regarding design details and solutions
  • to liaise with CGI consultants to produce interior design concepts and visuals where needed 
  • to assist the bespoke design manager with producing technical information and the presentation material needed for the projects and subsequently to manage the project to the highest standards to completion 
  • To assist in the design phase, orders to the factory, checking confirmations, site visits and preparatory documentation for installations.
  • to work extra time as and when required including Saturday

Requirements:

  • good command of the English language and familiarity with site terminology
  • past experience with kitchens, wardrobes and other joinery items

Technical:

  • excellent drawing and IT skills 
  • proficiency in AutoCAD (space planning and joinery detailing)
  •  proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adobe InDesign/Photoshop and Illustrator, (presentations) 
  • knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of surveying and inspection
  • experienced in set up of FFE schedules
  • ability to review, analyse, and make recommendations on designs, architectural plans, and specifications 
  • ability to interpret discussions and provide instructions to the site in relation to architectural drawings and technical specifications
  • rendering skills and Vectorworks are a plus
