Visual/interaction designer
Carlo Ratti Associati is seeking a visual/interaction designer to join its team in Torino, Italy.
Carlo Ratti Associati is an exciting and rapidly expanding international company based in Torino and New York, currently working on a variety of design, architecture and urban planning projects at different scales.
The position is a fantastic opportunity for a highly creative, flexible, independent and motivated individual to be involved in visual and interaction design activities. The position is available for an immediate start.
Applicants must demonstrate the following qualities:
- a strong educational background, ideally with professional experience in visual/interaction design, mobile and cross platform interfaces
- fluent English, spoken and written, with experience working/studying internationally – Italian as a second language is a plus
- excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise in a dynamic and fast paced environment, with attention to detail
- a confident, professional attitude with strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
- a high level of judgement, diplomacy and discretion
Main responsibilities:
- help the team defining concepts for interactive projects
- analysis and definition of the project requirements
- designing the experience or user interface for innovative projects
- coordinate suppliers and partners for each interaction aspect
- communicate effectively ideas to the team
Technical skills
- rapid prototyping skills – 3D printing, lasercutting, CNC
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Rhino, After Effects, a plus
- at least one interface prototyping software, such as Sketch
- knowledge of JavaScript and Processing for rapid prototyping purposes, demonstrated HTML skills are a plus
- strong clean visual design sense
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- good knowledge of the embedded electronics environment – Arduino
You will be based in Torino with possible travels abroad.
