Internationally acclaimed luxury hospitality design firm Tihany Design is seeking a talented and motivated senior designer to join its New York and Rome studios.
Reports to: Tihany Design managing partner
Requirements:
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design or architecture
- minimum ten years’ of experience in luxury hospitality and restaurant design
- strong technical background with proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, MS Office
- experience working on multiple projects and managing tight deadlines
- excellent organizational skills and time management
- strong leadership and ability to collaborate with project teams
- strong communication skills including verbal, written and visual, and ability to present at a high level
- positive attitude, flexible and enthusiastic
Responsibilities:
- initiating unique design concepts and narratives for hospitality projects (including restaurant design) and developing full-scale design presentations including conceptual space planning, mood boards, plan and elevations
- developing custom furniture, fixtures and lighting design
- take leadership in all design phases of the project, from concept to schematic design, design development, material selection and specifications
- coordinating, preparing and assuring quality of design documents, FF&E specifications and drawings
- developing solutions to design problems in all phases of design as well as during project construction
- shop drawing review and construction administration
- managing projects independently, coordinating and cultivating relationships with other project consultants
- managing, directing and providing design oversight to a team of intermediate and junior designers
- presenting and communicating design concepts internally and externally, orally and in writing
- mentoring support staff and junior designers
