Somner Macdonald Architects is hiring a project architect to join its team in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Somner Macdonald Architects are looking for a talented project architect with residential experience to lead a number of exciting new commissions. Ideally they would have experience working on high-end residential projects through all RIBA stages, from concept to completion and possess strong design, presentation, technical and contract administration skills.
We are a close-knit team of like minded people with a passion for making positive impacts on the homes and lives of our private clients, and are looking for someone with shared values to become an integral member of our small studio.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- minimum of two years’ post-part 3 experience working on residential projects in the UK
- strong design and presentation abilities (3D and model making)
- solid construction and technical knowledge
- the ability to take their own initiative and a strong sense of responsibility
- excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a number of clients, contractors and construction professionals at one time
- contract administration experience, particularly on residential projects
- a desire to collaborate, develop and grow with the practice
