Anna Hislop Home is currently seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer to join its team in Grand Cayman.
Key responsibilities
To be considered, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
- take responsibility of interior design and FF&E projects from concept, design development through to technical design, construction and completion, either independently or within a team
- create concepts through space planning, mood boards, material palettes, illustrative elevations, and 3D sketch visuals
- create visual and written specification documents through the design process for client sign-off and contractual requirements, with good knowledge of suppliers and cost awareness
- coordinate projects in collaboration with internal teams and wider external consultant/contractor design teams.
- an excellent technical understanding of the construction process with the ability to deliver detail drawing packages
Experience and qualifications:
- degree in interior design, or equivalent relevant qualification
- proven experience of working within a similar Interior Design role
- a passion for, and previous experience of working within residential interior design
- extensive experience of working directly with clients, contractors and multi-disciplinary design teams
Essential skills and knowledge:
- a clear understanding of the design process and ability to manage and deliver from concept design through to completion
- strong design and technical ability, with a high level of creativity to produce concepts, presentations and present with confidence
- ability to provide creative solutions in parallel to ensuring that all technical requirements are met
- ability to produce drawings at all stages of a project
- excellent verbal and written communication skills. This will include the ability to communicate confidently by phone, email and in person with various stakeholders
- ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with colleagues and clients and other various stakeholders
- a team player, with the ability to respond pro-actively and with a can-do attitude
- excellent attention to design, consistency and accuracy
- ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
- strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain a calm composure under pressure
- ability to use one’s initiative, to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- strong IT skills with previous extensive experience in using Microsoft Office software and Adobe Suite (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Highly skilled in AutoCAD and SketchUp
