Own London Studio is seeking a senior FF&E designer to join its team in London.

Own London Studio is an exciting and young studio that combines architecture, interior design and construction to develop high-end projects for discerning clients. Our projects range from beautiful townhouses in central London, to tasteful boutique hotels in Greece, always reflecting the synergy between timeless design and the client aspirations.

We are looking for a senior FF&E designer who has a genuine interest in design and art, and who is specialised in sourcing and designing furniture and lighting. You will have proven experience of successfully leading a design team and projects from inception to completion. You will have a portfolio of high-quality eclectic interiors demonstrating hospitality and residential development experience. You will demonstrate exceptional design, coordination and management skills with high attention to detail. Experience coordinating installations is a must, as well as client presentation experience. As the senior FF&E interior designer, you must have a BA interior design, a BA architectural interior design or similar, with ten plus years’ post-graduate experience.

Responsibilities:

  • presenting with confidence to clients of various cultures and be willing to travel overseas occasionally for pitch opportunities.
  • working to a written or verbal brief, outlining the deliverables on each phase and scope of works
  • managing projects efficiently, within schedule and within budget, in close cooperation with associate director as a senior member of the project team
  • managing and briefing the design team on live projects, outlining the deliverables on each phase and scope of works
  • preparation of concepts, mood boards, preliminary and final designs, and development of details, furniture, fixtures and lighting layouts
  • organisation of workflow with colleagues, 3D visualisers and others
  • developing detailed designs and selection of furniture, lighting and finishes, taking responsibility for technical drawings in plans and elevations prior to presentations
  • mentoring and directing junior and middle-weight designers
  • building and growing existing client and supplier relationships
  • capability for estimate FF&E costs
  • procurement and programme
  • installation manager

Required skills:

  • proven track record of experience in interior design/interior architecture
  • proven ability to create and develop conceptual designs
  • proven technical coordination experience, ensuring fully detailed design information
  • proven on-site experience, including technical drawing reviews and on-site detail reviews
  • vast knowledge of FF&E suppliers and antique dealers (in the UK and overseas)
  • run projects from inception to completion and have been responsible for the projects
  • efficient in time management, resourcing and managing the project team
  • experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner
  • ability to advise clients and other parties on all design, construction, technical and regulation aspects of a design project
  • detailed knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign
  • self-motivated but also a good team player who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organised manner
  • Esti PC/Mac
