Middleweight product developer

Established&Sons has a vacancy for a middleweight product developer to join its team in London.

We are looking for an ambitious and highly creative product developer with exhibition design experience to join our growing team of design experts in London. Diverse experience and lateral thinking across product and exhibition design will ensure success in this role. You will be closely working with the creative director and head of product development.

Established & Sons is a recognised luxury brand that has led the way in contemporary furniture design pioneering collaborations with designers, artists and architects since its foundation in 2005. We are a 15-people strong, fun- loving team based in Central London (Old Street). With frequent product launches and showcases our design team is at the heart of the development of new designs from internationally recognised designers.

Product development:

  • product development of design projects in line with market compliance requirements
  • create time-lines and project budget with help of head of PD
  • create product 2D, 3D drawings, BOM, product manuals, specification sheets
  • sales training on new product additions
  • coordinate and follow through any required product testing
  • upkeep of textile and leather chart including pricing

Exhibition designs and installations:

  • design of exhibitions, displays and installations with input from the creative team
  • create budget and timeline with input from Head of Department.
  • help the project manager with production and execution of complex exhibition designs.
  • coordinate and produce simpler installation and showroom designs.
  • layouts and styling of the showroom

Bespoke designs and project tenders:

  • create client specific drawings, layouts and visuals with input from the sales team
  • create time-lines and project budget with help of head of PD
  • join Sales team in project-specific presentations with clients

Testing, compliance and sustainability:

  • keep track and update the testing and compliance chart
  • point of contact for Sales team for testing, compliances and product information
  • assist sales team in documentation for project specific compliance packages

Requirements:

  • minimum three years’ experience in a similar role
  • good understanding of materials and strong sensibility for colours and fabrics
  • visual awareness and an eye for detail
  • confident in product development as well as designing medium sized exhibitions
  • good technical and production knowledge, including safety standards and compliances
  • advanced level of Rhino, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite software, Microsoft Excel
  • proven in creating moodboards, colour schemes and material boards
  • excellent spoken and written English, Italian knowledge a plus
  • design/furniture-related degree or equivalent

The person:

  • confident communicator with good admin skills
  • comfortable in taking on responsibilities and challenges
  • used to working in a fast paced, commercial design environment
  • keen interest in the furniture design market and current tendencies
  • self-motivated and able to work well with other departments
