Architectural designer/Part 3 architect
at Home & Maker
Home & Maker, part of DB3 Group, is seeking an architectural designer and Part 3 architect to join its team remotely in the UK.
We are looking for agile and talented architectural designers and architects to join our emerging team on a variety of small scale residential projects.
Essential requirements:
- experienced with a variety of private residential clients and projects, from concept to completion of renovations, extensions, conversions and new builds
- have a passion for domestic architecture (extensions, conversions, new builds, interior design)
- are comfortable with and confident in liaising with private residential clients, with the ability to clearly explain the stages and services of a typical residential project
- are self-motivated, take the initiative and have a can-do attitude as well as efficient
- are willing to run and manage a portfolio of domestic projects, working both independently on drawing packages, and managing assistants where necessary to ensure quality control of issued information
- are able to audit designs and identify inconsistencies, discrepancies and missing information and record, report and track the close out of these items
- have good knowledge of UK building regulations, planning legislation including permitted development rights, and the planning/building regulations application process, specifically in the domestic architecture realm, familiar with party wall and build over processes; experienced with successful planning applications as well as liaising with planners directly, as well as experience with appeals
- are capable of robust UK construction detailing
- have admirable communication skills: spoken and written; excellent email etiquette, drawing issue and QA skills as well as attention to detail
- have excellent Revit skills, and used Revit in a professional capacity
- have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; excellent computer and internet literacy
- able to travel to site by car if needed; able to survey a property
- timely, good time management and experience with quoting fees and scope of works
