Summer Isles Enterprises is hiring a junior architect to join its team in the Highlands, Scotland.
Role description
We are looking for:
- an architect who would like to be a part of a dynamic team in the North West Highlands on a six month contract
- someone who is passionate about design and what they do
- an organic worker who is not set by parameters of a normal working day and is keen to have unique experience
- a confident, organised and dynamic person who can hold their own on site, with clients and suppliers
- you will be working within a large team, spending a lot of time on site where no day is the same and will be supported by two architectural assistants
Key responsibilities:
- leading and overseeing the planning applications and building warrants for new and existing properties on the island and mainland
- take the lead architecturally on all projects with the help of a newly qualified architect
- interpreting the brief from client and leading the drawing package for all build projects with a focus on the external elements of the building
- being aware and mindful of the impact of the project to the local environment
- working with the interior designer, coordinating design details and working together to produce coherent elevations and layouts
- coordinating technical detailing where needed for site team and liaising with external contractors
- linking schedules and specifications with site and the design team
- working with site on a daily basis to work through construction details
- following the programme and ensuring the correct information is issued to site
Salary: £25,000 - £29,999
