Job description
We are looking for a visualisation artist experienced in creating photorealistic verified visuals, with a thorough knowledge of the London planning industry. We expect this person to be technically strong in 3DS Max, V-Ray and Photoshop, they must have excellent attention to detail and be confident liaising with external clients, consultants and architects.
Roles and responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to
General:
- producing planning (AVR3) visuals end to end – modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering and post-production of visuals
- running large and small scale planning visualisation projects
- working with and sometimes overseeing a small team of visualisation artists and technical staff on a project – overseeing accuracy and quality
- work alongside a senior mentor, and mentoring others; we believe in people training people
- responsible for the quality of planning visuals as well as technical accuracy
- seek critique of own work and take criticisms on board
Workflow and technical:
- work in line with the planning structure and set processes, able to model accurately in 3DS Max
- all artists responsible for contribution to assets library; harvesting sets, models and materials in the process of delivering live jobs
- making suggestions and offering to implement new workflows and processes
- adhering to server and PSD structure
- ensuring work is done in the right way in softwares; seek guidance on settings and renderings to ensure best practice
- seeking to standardise and automate tasks
Project and client management:
- estimating timescales and working within time constraints
- aim to meet or exceed company rates
- work with project managers on project delivery and control
- engage with external parties, including architects and consultants, develop relationships and build on these
- ensure company communication protocols are followed; face-to-face, phone, email
- responsible for full appraisal of all project information; assess holes and errors, identify and flag these to project managers and leads
- expected to attend client meetings fully prepared and engage with parties in attendance
Required experience:
- excellent technical knowledge and knowledge of planning processes and production
- experienced visualisation artist; particular experience of verified views production
- interest in technical accuracy as well as visual quality aspect of role
- passion for the urban planning industry
- all round visualisation skills; 3DS Max + V-Ray, with excellent knowledge of Photoshop
Essential skills
- high standard of personal efficiency in 3D and post-production
- excellent attention to detail
- good verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with other staff and external parties
- keen creative or architectural interests outside of work
- good time management skills
- photography skills are considered a bonus
