Snøhetta is looking for a director of operations to join its team in Hong Kong, China.
To ensure the success of our rapidly growing Hong Kong office; world-renowned Snøhetta is seeking an exceptional director of operations whose personal ambitions match our own. The director of operations will lead all non-design processes and make sure that the company is running in the optimal operational manner, speed and efficiency at all times. Our new director of operations excels and takes pleasure in utilising their excellent management and organisational skills and is truly passionate about achieving sustainable success with and through others. The right candidate has an impressive track record from international, demanding and complex environments where they have been able to ensure success through operational excellence. The successful candidate also has the ability both to stay strategically strong at the same time as keeping their hands in the business and likes getting things done, unafraid of getting ‘stuck in’ in operational matters.
The right candidate will be instrumental in making the Hong Kong office and our Asian market a strong addition to the Snøhetta family. You will work closely with management teams in both Hong Kong and Oslo, and report directly to the managing director for Snøhetta Overseas.
Responsibilities:
- develop, implement and monitor the overall budget
- drive the early stage staff planning, contract management and risk assessments in projects
- stays abreast of current developments, trends and practices within the industry
- participates in office recruitment, training and evaluations of employees
- provide business guidance, leadership and coaching to project managers
- liaisons with the administration of the company to ensure that best practice is shared and implemented
- support the managing director to secure quality of our client services in the Asian market
- act as deputy and support to managing director
Profile:
- MBA/operations management or other relevant higher education with exceptional results
- 10 + years leadership experience, preferably as operations manager/director
- solid experience from architecture/design/construction industry in the Asian market
- strong organisational skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- strong decision making, action planning, and prioritisation skills
- confidence in working in a complex and international environment
- fluent in English (oral, written, reading), in addition to mandarin. Another language is a plus
- affinity for cultural and creative business
- knowledge of Snøhetta’s work
