Re-Creo Architecture is seeking an architect or architect assistant to join its team in London.

Architect or architect assistant of three years’ experience with at least Part 2 or equivalent qualification at Re-Creo Architecture.

Re-Creo Architecture is a small design-driven practice looking for a passionate and highly motivated architect or architect assistant to join our London team which we are now looking to build up for a rapidly expanding workload. The new architect/assistant would initially work on early stages of design development through to planning.

Our work varies widely in scale and typology with a focus on complex design problems in residential and mixed-use schemes. Our current projects include a Hampstead heritage building conversion/extension with a new build alongside for 17 flats and a 250 houses & flats scheme in Addlestone. Our projects that are about to break include a scheme of 220 flats and 160 room apart hotel in Leeds, a 100 flat scheme in Barnet and a 400 flat scheme + 80,000 sq m of commercial use in Southwark.

We create inspiring residential developments that require complex problem-solving skills to deal with a broad range of spatial, design, place-making, urban planning, planning, construction and project viability issues.

Re-creo Architecture work alongside its sister organisation, Re-creo Developments, to advance designs from viability sketch schemes through to completion of construction, bringing a design-led approach to all stages of a project to realise developments that enhance the built environment. We take responsibility to create the vision, drive the schemes through the planning process and take the lead in building them out. We become our own clients, responsible for the outcome of our creative endeavour to our investor partners.

Applicants would ideally have:

  • three years post Part 2 experience, some within the UK
  • proven flair to understand design problems and to work with others to create imaginative designs to solve those
  • an ability to visualise the quality of a scheme and to present that with 3D visualisations
  • problem-solving good communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and proven drive to achieve the outcome
  • a basic understanding of planning procedures, construction documentation, building regulations and building contracts
  • thorough competency in 3-D BIM software (ArchiCAD preferred), SketchUp and MS office, Indesign and Photoshop and Lumion rendering tools
  • the right to work in the UK without restrictions
