We’re seeking ambitious and talented senior architects/interior designers with a minimum of five years professional experience to join our studio on the island of Bali in Indonesia.
The studio
Created in 2011 Studio Jencquel is an international boutique design studio set in Indonesia’s artistic and cultural capital, Ubud. In this unique space, studio founder Maximilian Jencquel has expanded on his varied cultural influences from Europe, North and South America, and Southeast Asia to focus on harmonious composition through architecture, furniture and interior design. Studio Jencquel currently employs a team of ten young, visionary talents.

Your role
Working for Studio Jencquel is about telling the story of local craftsmanship and architecture in context with its environment. We strive to keep these traditions alive.
As a senior architect/interior designer you will be embedded across all project stages, from the initial concept through all phases of construction, requiring an understanding of how to execute and implement specification and construction documentation. Interpreting client briefs, designing architectural plans, reviewing designs, model making and researching materials will be part of your job.
Reporting to the creative director, the role expects leadership competence of small project teams.
It is important to ensure your team works together cohesively to achieve set goals and targets. Strong communication and mentoring abilities are necessary.
A senior architect should also feel responsible to transfer expertise and knowledge. Our senior architects take on a more involved role in guiding and mentoring junior architects. An outstanding senior architect is also open to criticism and learning opportunities.
Your skills:
- a minimum of five years work experience
- ability to run several projects at the same time
- outstanding design and presentation skills including hand drawing and sketching skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- outstanding attention to detail
- proficiency in architectural software, preferable Vectorworks
- bonus points for furniture design experience
- strong leadership skills to support junior members of the team
- experience working on residential projects is essential, preferable luxury sector
