The role
We are recruiting for a senior coordinator to lead small to medium scale consultation and engagement projects and work as part of a team on a range of high profile projects, mostly London-based.
This role requires a motivated, self-starter who is comfortable leading day to day client liaison, producing content for engagement collateral and, from time to time, managing small teams.
Experience in preparing public-facing communications content is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- lead on production of high quality visual and written materials and support colleagues and clients in positively engaging stakeholders by delivering high quality communications
- support delivery of multiple projects, working independently across small to medium scale projects and with support across large scale regeneration projects
- manage client relationships with support from project lead and/or project director
- plan key deliverables such as workshops, public communications, and events, producing outputs to time, scope and budget
- proactively develop innovative approaches to gathering, analysing and managing data obtained through engagement and consultation
- produce interim reports and statement of community involvement with oversight from project leader
- contribute to team discussion and project strategy developing processes, procedures and programmes to support timely effective engagement activities; and support with senior level engagement of stakeholders to build advocacy and ensure effective engagement across all stakeholders
Skills:
- strong interpersonal skills and resilience with the ability to schedule work, deliver to tight
- deadlines, respond to changing situations and use personal initiative
- skilled in communications management with excellent interpersonal capabilities
- excellent problem solving and decision making capabilities
- strong attention to detail
- strong project planner with relevant project management experience
- proficient in stakeholder mapping and analysis and with a proven track record of planning stakeholder engagement activities
- report development and writing experience
- delivery focussed mind and strategic thinker
- flexible, cooperative and approachable with leadership capabilities
- confidence engaging with people in different teams and disciplines
Knowledge:
- understanding of stakeholder consultation and associated engagement needs and reporting
- understand the UK planning context
- knowledge of approaches to engaging with a broad and diverse range of residents, communities and stakeholders, ideally within built environment or regeneration projects
- an awareness of likely issues pertaining to project development and authorisations, that may impact on stakeholders
- a solid understanding of the planning process, RIBA stages of development, UK development industry
