Job description

This is a front of house multifaceted role, requiring a creative, outgoing and highly organised person capable of balancing day to day showroom duties sale enquiries and all marketing activities for Europe.  Day to day this means you are responsible for managing our digital profile, posting stories etc. on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn etc. You will also be maintaining our website, including adding new products, case studies and also for writing and publishing blogs in an effort to continually drive more traffic.  Other activities will include, organising exhibitions/events as necessary, and also booking furniture movements working closely with the accounts team to keep our inventory up to date.  With regards to the sales aspect of the role, you will be managing the Decca Europe account handling enquiries for all standard products, as well as offering assistance with some bespoke projects as necessary.

Showroom duties:

  • general ‘front of house’ reception duties, greeting clients, answering/fielding calls and responding to Sale Enquiries for the various Decca standard ranges
  • office duties, including ordering stationary, supplies and standard samples for our finish library
  • responsible for processing all standard sales orders, providing quotations in Microsoft excel format and placing factory orders on our in-house ordering system
  • working with the general manager you are responsible for the layout, planning and presentation of the showroom. This individual will also have a key role in managing and helping to curate our display for in-house shows)
  • booking and overseeing all furniture movements, as well as maintaining the stock inventory list with support from the accounts team
  • you will need to make sure the showroom is always well presented, ensuring colleagues put samples away after use, the windows, lights and printer are all switched off at the end of the day and plants watered etc. (We value our plants!)

Marketing:

  • help to create and execute new marketing activities/campaigns, with support from both the general manager and sales manager
  • continually update and maintain the company website, adding new products, case studies and both the writing and posting of blogs
  • increasing our social media presence, with regular updates (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc.)
  • designing artwork for online and printed campaigns as necessary. (Photoshop, InDesign etc.)
  • liaising with the press and assisting with furniture loans as agreed
  • organise and manage events and exhibitions as required.  Although we do not exhibit every year in the past we have shown at Decorex, Sleep & East and during Clerkenwell Design week among other
  • taking into account current trends and what’s proving popular on the website as evidenced by the analytic data, you will help the GM choose what furniture we intend to order and how it should be best displayed
  • coordinate product launches, marketing material and all relevant promotional events as required
  • managing all aspects of showroom entertaining and events

Sales:

  • answering email enquiries, sales calls for standard product enquires

  • assistance with small bespoke orders as necessary

Desirable skills and experience:

  • well-presented and with a positive attitude
    English fluency is essential as we require excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • good understanding of digital marketing, using analytical tools as well as updating information
  • creative, design or marketing background preferred
  • good Excel, Photoshop, and database knowledge and experience
  • highly motivated, organised and enjoy being part of a team
  • ability to multitask, and be highly organised at all times
  • can do attitude is essential; this is a vital role supporting our growing sales

Employment contract and benefits:

  • full time PAYE contract initially starting with a six month performance review
  • overtime not paid, but time in lieu as agreed with the general manager
  • pension scheme with small employer contribution
  • 20 days holiday per year (to include three days of Christmas close down) After one calendar year of continuous employment this increases to 23 days and after five years to 25 days per year
  • office hours 9.30-5.30pm with half an hour for lunch
