Mid-weight product designer
at Bouncepad
Bouncepad is seeking a mid-weight product designer to join its design team in London.
As the global market leader in tablet enclosures since 2011, Bouncepad is renowned for securely built, elegantly designed products which are engineered to last. You will find Bouncepad products all around the world, in the most iconic places, in your favourite shop, museum, ice-cream van and cafe.
The role
We are looking for a creative problem solver with industry experience in product development and manufacturing to design new products and fine tune our existing product lines. You will work on all stages of the product development process, from research and ideation through to manufacture and design for assembly.
You will be working within our design team, learning from their combined years of experience across a variety of specialisms and making use of our recently re-furbished design studio. We also promote cross-department collaboration, giving you the opportunity to work with and learn from the rest of the Bouncepad team in sales, marketing and operations.

Responsibilities and core skills:
- conducting primary research and market analysis, then translating those findings into design opportunities
- documenting and communicating your work effectively, bringing ideas to life with clear, engaging articulation and informative presentations
- good ideation and design development skills, including advanced sketching, model making, 3D modelling and rendering
- prototyping and mechanical testing (utilising internal workshop and external suppliers)
- advanced technical and working knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques
- producing manufacture-ready 3D data and 2D engineering drawings (Solidworks)
- creating and managing bill of materials and assembly documentation
- liaising with external suppliers to validate and optimise designs for manufacturing and assembly
- working with management to define and manage project deliverables and deadlines
- supporting the marketing and operations team by creating technical assets and documentation
- tuned-in to current design trends with an eye for detail
- commercially aware with the drive to bring products to market on time and on budget
- ability to communicate and collaborate effectively to achieve shared objectives, adapting your communications depending on the audience
- a willingness to build and maintain positive working relationships and to share information with others
- determination to achieve an end result, maintaining optimism and enthusiasm when things don’t go to plan and being able to cope with the pressure of deadlines
Requirements and experience:
- master’s or bachelor’s degree in industrial design, product design, engineering or similar
- a minimum of three years’ of relevant industry experience
- experience of project ownership within a similar role
- experience of injection moulding, die-casting and sheet metal fabrication
- advanced skills in SolidWorks, KeyShot, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- fluent in English (other languages beneficial)
- right to work in the UK
