at Yeates Design

Yeates Design is hiring a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

Part 2 architectural assistant – full time (part-time by agreement)

Who we are

Yeates Design LLP are a RIBA chartered practice based in southeast London, working in a range of sectors but primarily private residential and mixed-use development. Founded by Nick Yeates in 1993, the practice is committed to finding well-crafted solutions that exceed client expectations wherever possible.

We are currently involved in a number of interesting projects including an ambitious mixed-use scheme that has recently received planning. This scheme will create a new church, community hall, café and associated housing. It is part of a wider regeneration scheme meeting the needs of a deprived area.

We are also working on two mixed-use schemes to convert a former flour mill and a Royal Mail sorting office into residential and commercial spaces.

We have an extensive portfolio of high-end new build homes and renovations, and a proven track record in achieving well designed modern spaces that complement and draw from the local vernacular whilst balancing client expectations and local requirements.

Our requirements

A Part 2 architectural assistant (or equivalent qualification) providing support at every RIBA stage, from initial scheme design through planning, tender process and on-site period. A working knowledge of residential and mixed-use projects is of particular interest. Your responsibilities will be based on your current level of experience, but you will have ample opportunity to grow your role and develop future projects to become an integral part of the Yeates Design team.

You should also have the following

  • a good design eye
  • 3D modelling skills
  • proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • be London based or live within easy commute of London and the southeast
  • be fluent in written and spoken English and eligible to work in the UK

What we offer

In return we offer a working environment in which the successful candidate will be able to utilise and develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere and potentially grow their role within the practice over time.

We recognise that today’s applicants face particular challenges, and we are able to offer significant flexibility in working hours to help you achieve a good work/life balance. We are also open to the possibility of a part-time arrangement.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This is currently a remote working position with in-person meetings and site visits as and when appropriate.
