Undercover Architecture is hiring a qualified architect to join its team in London.
Established by Luke + Estelle Chandresinghe in 2012, Undercover Architecture is a young and vibrant London based practice of maverick architects and designers committed to excellence, innovation, attention to detail and strategic thinking. Undercover is a multidisciplinary design firm with studios in London and Provence, made up of a passionate team of individuals from backgrounds including architecture, interior design, engineering, fashion and design publishing.
We are seeking a newly qualified Part 3 Architect to project lead an exciting new residential project in London. The right applicant will have excellent graphic, design, communication and technical skills. They will need to have experience coordinating a consultant team, a strong design sensibility and an active interest in sustainable design.
The successful architect will:
- have previous client-facing experience and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- have previous experience working on private residential projects at RIBA Stages 0-4
- be able to fully coordinate planning, tender and detail design packages
- be able to work across all scales of design
- be confident coordinating with the wider design team and all relevant consultants
- have some construction knowledge (highly beneficial, especially within a traditional contract. Plus experience coordinating construction packages highly beneficial)
- have confidence leading a project under the supervision of the director
- have a comprehensive understanding of construction technology and general building regulations. Interest or experience in CLT construction a bonus
- be skilled in preparing, developing and editing concept drawings, models, images and documentation related to the design
- be organised and have excellent presentation skills
- have the ability to detail internal fit out, joinery as well as developing project specification
- have a genuine passion and interest in the residential sector
- be a team player who’s able to work efficiently, confidently and professionally within a small team. For example, describing accurately and justifying designs or considerations to the wider design team in order to make informed decisions for the respective project
Required technical skills:
- Vectorworks 2D proficiency essential
- Vectorworks 3D or Revit proficiency highly desirable
- SketchUp and rendering software proficiency desirable
- Adobe CS proficiency essential
