Jo Thompson Landscape & Garden Design is seeking a landscape architect/garden designer to join its team in East Sussex, UK.

Overview

We are looking for a talented landscape architect/garden designer, ideally with three years’ experience, with demonstrable experience in designing residential gardens. Creativity and enthusiasm are vital, as is a passion for design and plants.

The position is full-time, with flexible working arrangements available upon discussion.  The successful candidate would be expected to work from our East Sussex studio at least one to two days per week.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Start date – as soon as possible.

Job responsibilities, qualities and skills:

• qualified landscape architect/garden designer ideally with at least three years’ experience
• exceptional design skills
• a high standard of analytical design and technical ability
• the ability to produce drawings and other technical documentation with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development of the projects from concept design through to completion
• proficiency in the use of CAD software (Vectorworks preferred)
• proficiency in least one 3D modelling software (eg SketchUp, Rhino, Vectorworks) and the ability to work with complex geometry and terrain
• the ability to produce technical drawings, details and specifications.
• proficiency in Adobe suite, Microsoft Office 365
• good hand-drawing skills

The successful candidate will be:

• dynamic, self-motivated, creative and well-organised
• able to work to deadlines and to manage their time
• attentive to detail and quality of work
• well-organised and able to respond to tight deadlines and work on multiple projects
• able to participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplines
• willing to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas
• an excellent communicator (written and verbal)

The successful candidate will be able to provide references, have the right to live and work in the UK, and have a full driving licence.
