Robert Doughty Consultancy has an opportunity for an architectural assistant to join its team in Lincolnshire, UK.

Our multidisciplinary practice is looking for people to join our design team. Within a company of some 16 in number, the design staff are currently three strong with a RIBA chartered architect, an architectural technician and a visualiser. We are developing a reputation for designing contemporary buildings located in sensitive contexts and are looking for candidates who are interested in this approach to design.

Whilst our current workload consists of mainly planning and building regulation applications, our aim is to offer full RIBA architectural services. Current projects include a 5-storey town centre retail and residential building, several bespoke houses in rural locations and an innovative development of 25 houses, as well as several projects involving listed and agricultural buildings of varying complexity.

It is essential that candidates can demonstrate the following:

  • excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • a strong command of written and spoken English

Experience of or an interest in developing skills in the following areas is highly desirable:

  • contemporary architectural design
  • modern methods of construction
  • preparation of planning, building regulation, tender and construction information packages
  • coordination of external consultant’s information
  • contract administration
  • CDM 2015
  • physical model making
  • hand sketching

The practice uses Autodesk AutoCad and Revit, SketchUp and Photoshop. It would be advantageous for candidates to be able to use some or all of this software although training can be given.
