Mid-weight/senior FF&E designer
at Pirajean Lees
Pirajean Lees is hiring a mid-weight or senior FF&E designer with hospitality and residential experience to join its team in London.
We are looking for a full-time creative, qualified and skilled FF&E designer with previous strong experience in FF&E for interior design projects, within high-end UK practices. A designer who shares our interest in materials and details, able to approach each project with a fresh perspective. You will join our creative team, to work primarily on high-end restaurants and bars internationally and secondly on private residential projects.
The responsibilities will include:
- create, develop and manage FF&E projects from conception to completion, collaborating with the project team, including the interior designers, architects and studio cofounders
- strong knowledge of both Interior Architecture and FF&E, with the technical understanding to support working across both sides of the design process
- generate ideas and concept development
- ensure integration of FF&E within the interior design scheme through FF&E CAD layouts
- research historical pieces, vintage items, found objects
- source new items and vintage pieces
- design, develop and draw bespoke pieces
- coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers and purchasing agents
- research and sourcing: references, materials, finishes, fabrics
- research new suppliers and manufacturers
- review budgets, quotes and orders and manage information produced by subcontractors
- review shop drawings, samples and prototypes
- prepare detailed specification sheets, schedules, costs
- establishing detailed project timelines with internal milestones
- prepare and attend client presentations
- leading kick off meetings at each design phase
- assist during delivery, installation and handover

The candidates should have the following experience:
- degree in interior design or product design (BA minimum)
- six plus proven years’ experience in FF&E design, including three plus years in a similar position
- previous employment at a high-end UK based practice, working on hospitality projects
Required skills:

- strong knowledge of the design industry, suppliers, manufacturers, fairs, markets
- knowledge of the UK regulations and UK project stages
- able to manage relations with clients, suppliers and purchasing agents

- excellent presentation and communication
- able to work within a team and independently, to tight deadlines
- experience in managing large and complex FF&E budgets, procurement and installations
Must be fluent in:
- Hand sketching
- 2D: AutoCAD
- 3D: SolidWorks or equivalent
- Photoshop and InDesign
- EstiMac
- Word and Excel
- Professional English, French-speaking is a bonus
