Mid-weight/senior interior designer

Idea Interiors is seeking qualified mid-weight/senior interior designer to join its team in London.
Idea is an award-winning interiors and architecture practice with completed projects in Europe, USA and the Middle East. Our current projects include new homes, superyachts, hotel and office buildings for institutional, public and private clients.We are a highly collaborative, design-focused practice looking to expand our talented team in our spacious Sofia studio.
We are currently working a hybrid schedule – and full time remote work is a possibility.
Applicants must have experience working on projects from concept design through construction administration phases. Proficiency in CAD/BIM programs is required.
Your primary role is to be involved in all phases of the design process, from concept, through construction and administration through to completion on multiple projects. The candidate needs to seamlessly prioritise work, balance multiple demands simultaneously, plan and schedule resources to meet client commitments and deadlines. Supporting the seniors/directors respective of your job role by having good knowledge of the specifics of the project.
The candidate should also:
- be meticulous, highly organised and efficient
- be a team player able to support and contribute to a positive working environment
- be capable of clear communication; fluent in English, both written and verbal
- be proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign
- high level of joinery and detailing
- demonstrate confidence in sketching and presenting new ideas
- show experience of delivering neat, clear and accurate design information and schedules
- be able to confidently represent the company externally and contribute to MBDS’s professional reputation and high level of attention to detail
Experience
A minimum of five years’ of experience in either hospitality or residential design and be very experienced with running jobs; either large scale residential, hotels or restaurant roll-outs.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge:
- comprehensive understanding of construction technology
- high level of joinery, detailing, furniture and construction is imperative
- awareness of current style trends/industry
- 3D spatial awareness
Skills:
- an extremely high level of AutoCAD is a must
- proficient in Photoshop
- good knowledge of BIM software
- good knowledge of InDesign
- good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- good knowledge of SketchUp
- strong free-hand sketching abilities
