Senior interior designer/interior architect

Spacelab_ is seeking a senior interior designer/interior architect to join its team in London.

We are looking for a highly creative senior interior designer/interior architect with seven plus years’ experience to join us on a full time permanent basis to work on a range of prestigious and exciting projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • assist creatively on projects from concept to completion alongside directors and associates
  • attend/lead presentations and workshops with clients to help develop and evolve project brief
  • oversee large, or multiple smaller projects simultaneously and are responsible of their team that consists of designers from junior to mid levels
  • manage the collection and preparation of the project briefing documents
  • develop and implement interior design concepts
  • confidently lead with design and production information
  • oversee the production of presentation finishes boards
  • create detailed technical specifications and drawings, including floor plans, bespoke installations, joinery and architectural details for all stages including tender packages
  • research products and material specifications and Investigate suitability for use and maintenance
  • attending site meetings and liaising with consultants ensuring timely delivery and high standards of design for the project

Experience and skills:

  • a degree in interior design or interior architecture
  • seven plus years’ professional experience preferred
  • excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
  • proven experience producing detailed drawings packages, schedules and specifications
  • good knowledge of FF&E & joinery and construction detailing
  • creative problem solving and attention to detail
  • confident to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • confident in liaising with architects, consultants, specialists and suppliers
  • good knowledge of finishes and materials
  • excellent communication and presentation skills in English – verbal, written and visual
  • Revit and Vectorworks experience advantageous
  • proficient using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • a working knowledge of UK building systems, regulations and construction methods
