The job
Reporting to the head of interior design, working client side in a new role within the interior design team you will be running your own projects and also managing a team of senior and mid-weight designers, overseeing design reviews of their projects and managing your team. This is an opportunity for someone looking for the next career step or has experience of a team lead role, working across two international hospitality brands.
Key accountibilities include:
- develop and oversee multiple interior schemes and undertake reviews of design packs by other team members
- line management of your team of senior and mid-weight interior designers
- manage multiple projects from concept development to completion
- develop and review concepts
- ensuring interior design projects are delivered on time
- ensure projects adhere to budgetary requirements whilst still achieving exceptional world-class styles
- document control
- coordinate with dressing and production for each project
- manage and implement standards and templates
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- proven ability in managing a team, providing constructive feedback and sharing experience to help designers gain knowledge
- excellent project management experience with a proven background in delivering projects on time and within budget
- interior design degree or architectural qualifications
- strong skills in 2D and 3D packages including Vectorworks skills and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) and the ability to deliver drawing packages
- working knowledge of FF&E
- extensive hospitality design experience and awareness of the wider restaurant industry style/trends, similar experience may also be considered provided there is a proven success of managing and delivering projects
- excellent drawing skills to construction drawing stage
- understanding of and experience in delivering projects from concept to construction
- a solid understanding of UK building regulations. Additional knowledge of European and US regulations would also be advantageous
- site experience with the confidence to manage site meetings and external contractor and ability to answer questions and make decisions on the spot
- confident in working with internal Stakeholders, taking the lead and sharing views and expertise with confidence
- highly proficient in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
- the ability to sketch freehand is an advantage
- knowledge of joinery, furniture and construction detailing is also essential
