Social media executive

The Furniture Makers’ Company is seeking a social media executive to join its team in London.
The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is searching for a natural storyteller with a passion for developing innovative content in a range of formats, across multiple platforms.
Working under our marketing manager and guild marks manager, the social media executive will have overall responsibility for all output from The Furniture Makers’ Company’s, including the Bespoke Guild Mark and Design Guild Mark, social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube.
They will take the lead in engaging with our audience, growing the reach and influence of our social channels and utilising those platforms to increase traffic to our websites and support the success of our marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- priorities across multiple departments
- produce digital content (video, images, graphics, copy) that is innovative, distinctive and in line with each brand personality
- plan and develop a content calendar across all social media and digital channels, in line with the marketing strategy
- managing all social media activity – including posting, scheduling, engaging and responding
develop written and visual brand content for all digital platforms - maintain a consistent voice, personality and look and feel across all channels
- engage daily with online communities and ensure quick response to comments, messages and requests with good judgement and alignment to brand guidelines
- reporting on analytics and insights to shape the content strategy
- exploring new functionality on existing platforms
- attending company events to capture social media content
Skills and experience:
- minimum two years’ experience in a social media role
- an eye for design, photography, video and animation
- a passion and enthusiasm for all things social media
- a degree in marketing, media, English or other relevant field would be beneficial
- experience with scheduling software such as Hootsuite
- an understanding of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics, Instagram Insights) and how these should inform content strategy
- experience using paid social tactics
- excellent communication skills, combining creativity and strategic thinking, with attention to detail a prerequisite
- experience in social media management or digital marketing
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- proactive and an excellent multitasker
- experience with editing images and video
