Halliday Clark Architects is seeking an architect to join its team in West Yorkshire, UK.

Halliday Clark Architects is an award-winning architectural practice based in purpose-built offices within the town of Ilkley. Due to our ongoing workload we are looking for an Architect, preferably with a minimum of three years post qualification experience to join our successful team.

Investment and recruitment in the highest quality staff is crucial to our continued and long-term development strategy, and as such this opportunity will form an integral part of our experienced and efficient architectural team.

The successful candidate is expected to be able to work well both as part of a team but also individually. They should be able to demonstrate considered judgement and be able to demonstrate the ability to multi task within a wide range of sectors and projects of varying scale, which includes education, ecclesiastical, commercial and industrial.

Experience in housing projects would be an advantage, both bespoke single dwellings to larger scale residential schemes for both Local Authority and private development, both of which form an important part of our expertise and current workload.

They will be required to assist with all aspects of the design process and have an appropriate understanding of construction contracts and their administration, with proven experience delivering projects to site with efficient and accurate resourcing of time and skills at this stage.

They should also demonstrate a thorough and up to date knowledge of the current Building Regulations and the RIBA work stages.

This is a full-time position based in Ilkley with the opportunity to work within a fast-moving practice with an exciting range of projects throughout the UK.

Key attributes and skills required:

  • excellent design and presentation skills
  • excellent communication skills, with clear job running experience
  • highly motivated and organised with an ability to work on several projects types simultaneously
  • an interest and knowledge of architectural and construction detailing
  • experience within the residential sector
  • job running experience through all aspects of the RIBA work stages
  • excellent AutoCAD drawing and presenting skills
  • Revit knowledge and experience a distinct advantage
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge and experience
