at A Small Studio
A Small Studio is seeking an architect to join its team in London.
We are a dynamic studio with a variety of work in planning, landscape and architecture. We are small, friendly and informal. We want a team of great designers with good interpersonal skills. We are based in West Norwood (SE27) in a studio converted from an off license into a workspace.
Most of our work is in London with a few international projects. We are looking for an autonomous and competent architect post-Part 3 or recently qualified architect willing to lead projects on site. The job role will include acting as project manager on residential projects in London. An understanding of the RIBA stages of work, building control legislation and good contract administration skills are essential.
This is ideal for a recently qualified Part 3 candidate that wants responsibility, or for someone with experience that wants a change of scenery to join an expanding practice with a community-focused approach.
What we’re looking for
Dedicated, motivated individuals who enjoy visiting sites and working closely with builders on details and site challenges. Good designers and an interest in detailing is essential. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and be well organised and self-motivated.
Requirements:
- Vectorworks/Adobe Suite/SketchUp
- likes working in a team and collaborating with others
- enthusiastic and pro-active
- be self-motivated
- interested in contributing to the studio ethos and thinking outside of box on new and speculative projects
- some experience working across all RIBA stages, especially at RIBA Stages 4 and 5
- RIBA Part 3 qualification and ARB registered
- excellent writing and presentation skills
- have the right to work in the UK
Our salary structure is based on the RIBA salary guide 2022. We offer a pension scheme, cycle-to work scheme, a health assured membership which is an employee assistance programme for wellbeing and we make a yearly studio trip somewhere in Europe. We are flexible with working arrangements and are open to different work patterns that suit the candidate, but this is ideally a full-time post.
