London, UK
Architect/Part 2 assistant
at Yeates Design

Yeates Design is seeking a qualified architect or experienced Part 2 candidate to join its team in London.

Full-time (part-time by agreement, flexible working hours available).

Who we are

We are a RIBA chartered practice based in South East London, working in a range of sectors but primarily private residential and mixed-use development. Founded by Nick Yeates in 1993, we have a proven track record in achieving well designed modern spaces and renovations.

We are currently involved in an ambitious mixed-use scheme that has recently received planning. This scheme will create a new church, community hall, café and associated housing. It is part of a wider regeneration scheme meeting the needs of a deprived area.

You are likely to be involved in some of our existing projects, but you will also have ample opportunity to take creative ownership of future projects and see them through from initial scheme design to completion on site.

Our requirements

An RIBA qualified architect or equivalent. You should have a proven track record working on UK based projects at every RIBA stage. Part 2 candidates demonstrating comparable skills will also be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong residential/mixed-use background.

You should also have the following:

  • a good design eye
  • 3D modelling skills
  • proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • be London-based or live within easy commute of London and the South East
  • be fluent in written and spoken English, and eligible to work in the UK

What we offer

In return we offer a working environment in which the successful candidate will be able to utilise and develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, and grow their role within the practice over time.

We recognise that today’s applicants face particular challenges, and we are able to offer significant flexibility in working hours to help you achieve a good work/life balance. We are also open to the possibility of a part-time arrangement.

This is currently a remote working position with in-person meetings and site visits as and when appropriate.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications but £45 to £50k is possible for the right candidate.
