BN International is looking for a full-time designer for its office in Huizen, the Netherlands.
About us
BN International is a worldwide operating company in the field of wallcovering and cover materials. Established in Huizen (the Netherlands), BN International has been a source of innovative products since founded in 1926. New products, applications and techniques are continuously developed in an interplay between design, product development and production.
Recently Stephan Scholten has been appointed as Creative Director of BN International. Together with the BN design team, Studio Stefan Scholten will work on redefining collections and the BN brand experience.
We are looking for a full-time designer with strong creative skills in decorative product design to strengthen our team in Huizen. The core of the activities is the design of wall coverings and of specific materials for the bookbinding industry, notebooks and luxury packaging. Affinity with material development as well as attention to detail are an important element of this design job.
Requirements:
- you are experienced in designing various products in the field of wallcovering and/or cover materials or related industry
- you know how to balance creativity with technical requirements and demands
- you have all skills to work on projects independently, following and assisting throughout the whole process from design to concept development and production
- you are accurate with documentation of color recipes, product quality descriptions and product data
- you can translate design trends and market developments into concrete design elaborations
- you have a degree in the field of product design, pattern design or material development
- you are an expert in color printing techniques
- you are eager to learn BN’s own arts and craft knowledge and skills
- you are an expert in working with Photoshop and Illustrator, but you do not hesitate to draw by hand (knowledge of the specialized AVA system is an advantage)
- you are a team player, and you enjoy working together with colleagues with different expertise and background
- you have strong communication skills, and you are fluent in Dutch and English
