Sybarite is hiring a senior architect/senior designer to join its team in London.

Sybarite are looking for a highly creative and talented senior architect/senior designer to work on large-scale luxury retail projects. Based in our new Bankside Studio in the central location of Blackfriars, with the Thames as a backdrop, you will work within a multidisciplinary project team to design and realise projects for the most innovative retail operators in the world.

About the role

Sybarite is seeking candidates who are passionate in design and keen to collaborate on key mixed-use projects.

This is a key role within the project team that will focus on architecture and base build on large-scale luxury retail projects (ranging from 150,000–800,000 sqm) from concept design to completion.

As a key team member, you will balance design, technical ability and efficiency to deliver cohesive architectural projects that are aesthetically innovative and technically feasible.

About you:

  • minimum eight years of luxury design experience delivering mixed-use projects globally
  • strong visual storytelling skills, naturally igniting great rapport and adapting style to all levels
  • superb knowledge of materials and finishes, confidently take responsibility from concept to completion
  • proficiency in generating drawing tender packages
  • able to confidently take responsibility in leading CD, SD and DD package delivery programming resources and workload
  • competence in annotating construction drawing packs from contractors and third parties
  • able to confidently assist the associate in the design and production of interior or architectural projects within the office
  • manage and mentor a small group, leading and motivating them towards deadlines
  • consider the relationship between creativity and technical design as fluid
  • experience leasing with subcontractors
  • collaborative with other disciplines such as interior, installation and branding
  • expert level knowledge of Rhino and AutoCAD required (visualisation/ FF and E delivery expertise preferred), knowledge of Revit preferred
  • previous experience working for an international firm
  • good communication skills and presentation skills
