GA Design is seeking a designer to join its team in London.

The designer works as an interior architectural designer, responsible to and under the direction of senior designer and/or senior designer – project manager and job captain. Together with the project team, maintain the continuity of the project concepts through the entire process to completion.
It is the duty of the designer to coordinate with the project team to produce all required documentation and to insure its timely and correct completion within internal and external guidelines, rules and schedules as well as the coordination with the GA internal FF&E team, 3D team and other, external consultants.
You must have at least three to five years’ experience for this role.
Responsibilities:
- assist in the development of overall design concepts and maintains the continuity of those concepts through the entire project process to completion relative to client programme and budget
- together with the project team, translate concepts into schematic design criteria working with project programme and initial design concepts
- participation in the development of level and quality of finishes
- participation in the development of presentation material and help maintain graphic quality and content
- participate in presentations as needed
- assist the senior designer/senior designer – project manager/job captain in all aspects of his/her responsibilities
- assist senior designer/senior designer – project manager/job captain in the production of presentation boards and booklets
- assist senior designer/senior designer – project manager/job captain in material and finishes research and selections, including visiting showrooms (if required)
- co-ordinate with design and production team members in producing all required schedules (i.e. finishes, sanitary ware, ironmongery etc.)
- assist in the production of the output of design and production team members in finalising and documenting the project
- develop and maintain positive relationship and channels of communication with appropriate project related personnel (external and internal)
- co-ordinate and work closely with the FF&E designer
- maintain regular review of ID documentation, shop drawings, and participates in CI phase to ensure design intent is maintained, as required
- assist in the development of project goals in conjunction with other team members
- participate in team meetings, design review, etc.
- participate in client & design team meetings as required
- ensure graphic quality, content, consistency and correctness of Tender/ID documentation
- maintain contact with contractor as needed
- coordinate with the senior designer/senior designer – project manager/job to ensure workability of details, etc.
- be knowledgeable about contract responsibilities and output during ID documentation and CI phases
- to have good knowledge of AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Photoshop & SketchUp/3D software
- to have good verbal and written communication skills
- meet sales representatives (if required)
- coordinate with suppliers/manufacturers, sample orders
- filing (project filing)
General office responsibilities
In order to get a full insight in the operations of an architectural company you may be asked to perform duties other than project related.
These may include but are not limited to:
- reception cover during short term unavailability of the Receptionist (i.e. illness or lunch breaks)
- assist in office clean-up (before client visits)
- assisting in telephone answering (this is a general daily responsibility of a junior designer)
