Criterion Capital is hiring an architect/Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

The in-house architectural arm have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline and looking to expand the team.

We work primarily in the residential and hospitality (hotels, hostels and restaurants) sectors, dealing with both new-build projects and refurbishments.

Role – Part 3 newly qualified architect/Part 2 architectural assistant

We are actively looking to employ a Part 3 newly qualified architect (one to three year’ post-qualification), or a Part 2 architectural assistant working towards ARB accreditation. The architect or assistant will work with the project lead to develop their skillset. We believe in nurturing talent and mentoring them to take on greater challenges and responsibilities.

Working closely with the land/acquisition and commercial/construction teams, this is an opportunity for candidates to understand and gain experience of the wider context of property development and construction. This position would appeal to those who are interested in pursuing a career with a broader outlook/prospects beyond architecture.

A successful applicant should have:

  • an eye for good design and an interest in property development and/or the hospitality industry
  • interest in developing their detail/technical design skills
  • strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and ideally Revit
  • an understanding of and/or interest in construction technologies and UK building regulations
  • be proactive and willing to work autonomously
  • an inquisitive mind and willingness to learn and progress their careers

Responsibilities:

  • to provide an appropriate level of design, drafting, technical and administrative input at all stages on a range of architectural projects
  • to undertake the required job administration on projects you are responsible for under the direction of the project lead.
  • coordinate the design to ensure it is cost effective and buildable
  • value engineer to ensure maximum value is achieved
  • work closely with colleagues in other departments
  • ensure necessary and relevant risk assessments are undertaken on every project
  • follow health and safety and quality assurance procedures
  • engage with CPD events and help disseminate knowledge to the wider office

Due to the collaborative nature of the role and to assist candidates with their progression we require all staff to be based full time at the office in Central London.

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work permanently in the UK and have fluent written and spoken English.
