Senior Chartered Architectural Technologist 

Are you wanting to work directly for the client rather than via a third party consultancy?

Boyce Deign & Build is a young, ambitious design-led property development firm working on our own mixed-use schemes throughout Bristol and the South West. In essence our model is to invest, design, build, operate, reinvest. We are seeking an architectural technologist to help form an integral part of our team as the company enters its next stage of development and are looking for the right candidate to lead the detailed design and construction packages, with an oversight of the build process.

We are currently working on a range of exciting projects from brownfield sites, listed building and conservation projects, industrial conversion works to new build – the list continues to grow! The successful candidate must be comfortable working on projects across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.

What we’re looking for:

  • technologist with at least ten years’ industry experience working with developers/contractors and direct on site experience
  • excellent knowledge of Autodesk Revit to BIM Level 1/2
  • excellent knowledge of the UK building regulations
  • particularly a good understanding of current and future fire regulations, BS9999 etc.
  • excellent knowledge of UK housing standards
  • excellent knowledge of a range of construction methods and specifications
  • good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Clifton, Bristol as this is an office based role with periodic visits to sites within Bristol and the local region
  • must be able to drive and have access to a car to carry out site visits
  • the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision on small to medium projects
  • as well as the ability to work as part of a team on larger work-shared projects
  • provide leadership to architectural assistants/technologists, including setting clear deadlines, identifying and managing risks, cost control and communication
