Junior architectural technician
at Bond Bryan
Bond Bryan is seeking a junior architectural technician to join its team in Kent, UK.
Bond Bryan is a multidisciplinary practice comprising architects, landscape architects, masterplanners and interior designers. With a diverse range of award-winning projects in both the public and private sector, we offer our services nationally and internationally from our four studios in Kent, London, Birmingham, and Sheffield.
Due to an increased workload of new and exciting projects, we have an excellent opportunity for a junior technician to join our team in Westerham, Kent.
Role
Work directly with the project team collating, organising, investigating, and producing technical information for use during the development of the project design.
Developing the architectural design
Working directly with the project team, undertake the following:
- help collate and organise technical information
- support in the development of the ArchiCAD BIM model
- working with a senior technician, review technical information and factors that affect projects, including client requirements, site/building surveys and regulatory requirements
- assist the project team to produce information necessary to submit a planning application i.e. checking elements such as stair compliance, DDA compliance, brick dimensions and U-values
- help produce an outline specification
Preparing detail design and production information:
- support with the development of the detailed design proposals
- help prepare NBS specifications for construction work
- prepare drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals
- develop the ArchiCAD BIM model with technical information
Contract management/construction on-site:
- make site visits and record findings of site inspections
- as required by the contractor, help the senior technician to prepare construction details using ArchiCAD
Post-construction:
- assist with the production of construction record drawings
Professional practice:
- adhere to Bond Bryan’s internal policies e.g., quality assurance
- work towards becoming a technician member of CIAT (TCIAT)
- undertake structured continued professional development (CPD)
- uphold the reputation of the practice at all times to existing customers such that they place repeat business or recommend to others
