HNW Architects is seeking a studio assistant to join its team in Chichester, UK.

Are you looking to join a creative team and interested in architecture and design?

HNW Architects are looking for a friendly, organised, motivated, enthusiastic, and creative person to join the team in their Chichester studio, to assist with a range of front of house, administration and presentation activities.

HNW is a collaborative architecture practice with an extensive portfolio that embraces a rich and varied range of projects, with a particular in-depth understanding of sectors including education, residential, commercial, retail, leisure and industrial.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will be friendly and approachable with a professional manner have good practical skills, excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a willingness to learn and develop. IT literacy is essential with the ability to learn new softwares, as is the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work under their own initiative. A problem-solving attitude is vital.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to provide a varied support role, adapting to specific needs and deadlines and will have:

  • confidence, efficiency and organisational skills
  • good written and verbal communication, teamwork and people skills
  • a good telephone manner
  • a professional approach to work and a high level of commitment
  • a positive attitude, enthusiasm, dependability and attention to detail
  • a pro-active approach, use initiative and be willing to take ownership of tasks
  • a good working knowledge and understanding of; Microsoft Office Packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ideally including advanced Excel, but not essential
  • a eye for detail and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, but in particular Photoshop and InDesign

Duties will include:

  • wide and diverse range of office administration
  • greeting and front of house support and reception cover (based in our Chichester studio)
  • general maintaining of studio environments
  • support coordination and organising of company events
  • assist with the production of presentation and bid material
  • support the practice manager

This role will be based at our studio in Chichester with a competitive salary, dependent upon experience. All candidates should be eligible to work in the UK. Full and Part time roles will be considered, final working hours to be agreed.

We have studios based in Chichester and Brighton.

Our impressive Chichester studio offers an open plan working environment in the centre of the city, adjacent to Priory Park, with excellent access to the historic town. Our Chichester studio is minutes walk away from a large public car park, we also have secure bicycle parking with onsite showers and are just five minutes walk away from both bus and train stations.

Our studio in Brighton is based in Brighton and Hove’s largest independent co-working community of businesses and creative entrepreneurs, known for its lively and collaborative culture. The studio is conveniently located to access the many benefits that the city has to offer and is well served by a variety of public transport and a short walk from the train station.

The right personality is as important as your experience, we want to find someone who can become part of the office and bring something new to HNW. We are a sociable practice and regularly get involved with local events, as well as internal office activities.
