Benedetti Architects is hiring a practice manager to join its team in London.
Renato Benedetti formed Benedetti Architects in 2016, following 20 years of award-winning success as co-director of McDowell+Benedetti Architects. Working with an open-minded, collaborative approach, Benedetti Architects explores disparate possibilities to tease out fresh solutions on a wide spectrum of projects throughout the UK and abroad. We recently completed BAFTA’s headquarters on Piccadilly and been selected to redesign the Royal Institute of Architects headquarters.
We are seeking to fill the key role of practice manager who has a responsibility, under the director, for leading the administration side of the practice. This includes general practice management, marketing and PR, premises management, project and administrative support.
The role is varied and tasks include:
- practice/financial management: day to day overview of all office systems/protocols, petty cash, liaising with bookkeeper and accountants on a monthly basis, filing, updating practice polices and records and assisting the director
- marketing, new business and publicity: promoting the practice via social media, updating company website and promotional documents, liaising with the press, researching new OJEU notices through tender portals, generating PQQ/ITT submissions, awards and helping with presentations
- premises management: ordering supplies when needed, liaison with landlord, suppliers and IT consultants
- administration support: meeting and greeting, answering the phone, dealing with post/enquiries/deliveries, database management, archiving/filing, travel bookings, general office organisation and staff events.
- HR: knowledge of visa and immigration procedures, updating annual leave and staff records, recruitment and general knowledge of employment and data protection laws

Skills, qualifications and experience:
- at least three years’ experience in similar role and industry
- Microsoft applications to advanced standard and a working understanding of Adobe software
- knowledge of health and safety and employment laws
- knowledge and experience using project management systems – WorkflowMax
- fluent English, written and verbal
- ability to represent the firm to visitors, clients and consultants
- knowledge or understanding of document control systems
- experience in preparing contractual documentation
- experience of managing, motivating and developing staff
- be reliable and self-directed, able to follow through and complete tasks to a high standard
- friendly and approachable, whilst being assertive when necessary, with the ability to make quick and timely decisions
- flexibility/team player – a willingness to use their own initiative and put their hand to anything that’s asked of them, often at very short notice
- confident in communicating at all levels and cultures
- organised and able to work to their own deadlines
The job is intended to be full time (although a part time role may be considered). Salary will be dependent on experience and full-time/part-time status.
