Studio Multi is an architectural studio based in London and Amsterdam. ‘Multi’ in our name refers to an open, collaborative and pluralistic way of working. We design sustainable buildings, retrofits and places with resilience for future adaptation and re-use.
Studio Multi began in a time of declared environmental and economic emergency. We believe in an architecture of efficiency that enables joy – an architecture that is responsible yet optimistic. We aim to minimise embodied carbon, either through retrofit of existing structures or deployment of non-extractive materials. We champion Passivhaus to reduce energy in use and increase comfort.
This is an exciting time to be joining our team and an opportunity to make an impact on a growing practice. We have moved offices to a larger studio in Hatton Garden and are working on a series of varied commissions including timber pavilions, tall buildings, social housing, artist studios and public realm projects.
The role
We are looking for someone who is skilled in both model making and image making. We like to work in a range of mediums, appropriate to the project to explore and test designs. We work with quick, in-house exploratory models to test thoughts and presentation models that crystalise ideas. Similarly with image making, we test spaces in 3D and represent them in mediums ranging from collage to renders.
Additionally, you will assist the teams with drafting and graphic output for projects.
Skills required:
- excellent physical model making skills
- excellent 3D modelling and rendering skills, especially Rhino and Blender – we are open to discussing other software packages
- wide frame of reference and confidence to bring ideas to the table
- able to plan own workload, can meet deadlines and work under pressure when needed
- proactive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude
- proficient in Vectorworks, Adobe and MS office packages
- fluency in written and spoken English is essential
Salary guide
Starting Part 1 salary £23,500 per annum.
