About My-architect
My-architect is a residential architectural startup based in Camden. We’re developing the tools, technology and processes to enable us to work efficiently and at scale whilst delivering excellent architectural services for homeowners.
We’re a young, ambitious and fast moving team, dedicated to constant improvement and client satisfaction. We currently focus on London with plans to expand throughout the UK within the next five years.
About you
My architect is looking for a highly capable, diligent and independent architect or architectural assistant. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 are welcome.
An entrepreneurial and enterprising spirit combined with a can-do and open-minded attitude is essential. You will join our small but rapidly growing team and play a significant role in this ambitious company’s future.
Remote work is available for the right candidate, but you would be expected to attend weekly and monthly meetings.
Experience and skills:
- preferably at least three years’ experience working on single unit dwelling, residential projects in London
- an in-depth understanding of managing clients, planning applications and tendering processes
- excellent written, verbal and visual presentation skills
- highly organised, disciplined and an ability to manage many projects at any one time
- highly developed and intuitive design abilities in tune with Client and 3rd party goals and aspirations
- a thorough understanding of the planning and regulatory rules for residential projects across London
- team player and goal orientated
- knowledge of Vectorworks is an advantage but not essential
Job tasks:
- surveying | measuring and drawing-up site surveys in conjunction with senior architect
- design | on screen in collaboration with clients and consultants, ad-hock design ideas and solutions, drawing up plan drawings scale 1:100 and 1:50
- planning | research planning guidelines and local policies, building regulations, manage planning application process with regular updates to client and other relevant parties
- tender | preparation scope of works for clients, inviting builders to tender, mange tendering process, review quotes with clients, collaborate with structural engineers and other third parties (follow up, answering questions, plan amendments were needed, sticking to deadlines)
- project administration | regular folder/Trello updates, importing surveys, laying out plan drawings, keeping on top of emails
- learn | work closely with the senior architectural designers to rapidly develop the skills necessary to have complete autonomy over the role as quickly as possible
