About the role
You are a project manager with proven experience working across design for the built environment at a range of project scales and sectors.
You are a highly motivated strategic thinker capable of applying insights to all design disciplines, further assisting the team in the creation of way-finding, placemaking, brand and digital projects.
You are a passionate about design, the creative process and design thinking.
You are team oriented and personable with excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills.
You have experience and demonstrable ability to allocate work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You will be highly organised with a track record of project management and client liaison and the confidence to support directors and project leads on the management of teams through all stages of the creative process, from ideation, to production and implementation.
Being able to work with minimal supervision and plan own workload are pre-requisites, as is having the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
- work as a key member of our interdisciplinary team with a particular strength in supporting directors and project leads on the management of graphic and infographic design for the built environment including way-finding, place making, brand and motion graphics.
- support directors and project leads on the delivery of projects from design concepts through to final design with the support from the project lead. This includes contributing to the development of documents for both internal and external meetings and presentations
- contribute to the day-to-day project activities including project planning, resourcing and reporting, supporting on the running of internal project team meetings and attending external client/project team meetings
- participate in and contribute to brainstorming/design sprints, conduct any relevant research for projects, add insight and value and assist in achieving studio and project goals
- manage any procurement, including supporting on the preparation of tender documents, liaising with contractors, ensuring all work produced is of the highest quality whilst providing value for money
- support the directors and project leads on the provision of day-to-day account management on projects and contribute to new business proposal writing, pitches and presentations
- with support from directors, produce project budgets, resourcing schedules and programmes, time manage project milestones and deliverables and report to the Directors on project status for billing purposes
- deliver work according to an agreed timescale and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- be flexible in approach and able to take direction, feedback and observations with a positive attitude
- proactively maintain all project records, documents and files
Skills and experience required:
- design obsessive, aware of best practice in industry
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- ability to effectively present ideas
- fluent in written and spoken English
- high level of interpersonal communication skills
- excellent time management
- ability to meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision
- excellent computer knowledge, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
- experience of working with project finance and resource management tools is desirable
- design/project management qualification (Prince2 or similar) is desirable but not essential
- minimum four years’ experience or equivalent managing all stages of the project design process
