AJK Architecture + Design is seeking a Part 3 architect/Part 2 architectural assistant/technician to join its team in London.

AJK Architecture + Design is looking for a part 3 architect or experienced Part 2 architectural assistant/technician for a one year placement for maternity cover.

Established in 2016, AJK is a young, London-based architecture firm with projects predominantly within the residential sector, based in London, surrounding areas and Southern England.

We are looking for an architect or Part 2 who has experience across all stages from concept design, through planning, detailing and job running. You would be expected to take on several moderate size projects simultaneously and would oversee Part 1 staff to assist in the smooth running of jobs.

You will be expected to be involved in work which covers all design stages, from concept to detail design and construction.

We work collaboratively and openly and are always seeking new challenges and opportunities to create interesting and considered architecture. We pride ourselves in delivering projects that exceeds a clients own desires and brief.

Your responsibilities may include:

• taking responsibility the design and construction packages.
• The role may require client facing roles, site meetings and constant communication with client and design team members.
• preparing, developing and editing drawings, images and other documents relating to the design
• coordinating with and reviewing information from consultants and contractors where appropriate monitor construction work in progress to ensure compliance with the design

Candidates should:

• have previous office experience in the UK
• have excellent creative design capabilities, demonstrated by a design portfolio
• be self driven and motivated, be proactive, work efficiently and systematically with the team within an energetic environment to meet project demands and deadlines
• have a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and ability to handle multiple roles and responsibilities within a growing office
• have a good technical understanding of construction methods and detailing
• have the ability to use a variety of media and be proficient in 2D and 3D technical skills predominantly including (but not exclusively): AutoCAD and Adobe suite of presentation
• legally able to work in the UK
• salary to be discussed based on experience
