Senior architect

Benoy is looking for a senior architect to join its London studio.

Benoy’s London Studio is seeking creative and experienced senior architects and architectural designers to join them.

As a senior architect or designer, you manage mid-scale, or aspects of large-scale architectural projects in the commercial mixed-use and Hospitality sector through all aspects of design and development.

What we’re looking for:

  • you are a talented designer, with a portfolio that showcases great creativity and innovative thinking
  • experience within hospitality is preferred
  • you have experience of successfully delivering large scale international projects through all work stages
  • you have experience managing small teams
  • with strong organisational and supervisory skills, you have a proven ability to manage projects and people to deliver great results
  • a strong communicator, you can effectively engage internal and external stakeholders
  • you are proficient in computer applications commonly used within your discipline – Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up and Adobe Suite as a minimum Grasshopper scripting skills advantageous
  • you are degree qualified in related design field or hold equivalent certification; professional registration is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Design/Technical Expertise:

  • delivers high quality design and/or technical work, engaging others with their creative and innovative thinking

Project Management:

  • demonstrates a detailed understanding of the design process and project brief, coordinating the preparation of the project deliverables and other activities related to the project development
  • akes responsibility for quality control and supervision of project deliverables
  • coordinates and integrates the work of external contractors, suppliers and professionals

Team Management:

  • role models Benoy’s values and contributes towards a collaborative environment in which innovation is encouraged and best practice shared
  • ability to work effectively with others to develop and resolve project issues
  • ability to make complex decisions, weighing up a range of factors and implications
  • builds a network across the business and seeks leadership opportunities by directing and supporting junior team members

Client Relationships:

  • develops effective relationships with clients and consultants
  • operate independently in daily engagement with clients and stakeholders
  • provide support to senior team members with key client presentations and represent Benoy in meetings as required

Budget Control:

  • takes responsibility for aspects of the project budget and liaises with stakeholders to ensure delivery
  • seeks to develop a working understanding of cost control, fee charging and project finance, and considers how project fees are maximised without threat to client relationship and repeat work
