Middleweight graphic designer

Studio MB is looking for a middleweight graphic designer to join its team in Edinburgh, UK.
We are looking to hire an ambitious middleweight graphic designer to join our multi-disciplinary award-winning design team. We seek candidates who have a creative flair, a strong understanding of typography and are capable of producing imaginative storytelling designs that amaze their audience.
Ideally, you will have minimum three to four years design experience and a strong understanding of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of other programs would also be beneficial such as Premiere Pro. Some prior experience of applying your graphic designs to interior spaces would be beneficial but not essential.
As part of our design team, you will be expected to work in the studio, sharing ideas and assisting the graphic design director, as well as collaborating with our 3D/exhibition design colleagues. Applicants must have the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines independently, be inquisitive and demonstrate initiative to create dynamic and exciting designs.
Some key duties will be:
- creating concept design graphics and developing them into final designs
- liaising with clients and suppliers
- monitoring production specifications and budgets
- briefing illustrators and developing the work
- able to attend the sites to liaise with contractors and client teams and oversee project development
- coordinating with the studio design team regarding graphic requirements within a project. This will require you to check 3D design drawings, including plans, elevations and details (don’t worry if you’ve never done this before – we will help you)
- assisting junior members of the graphic design team, interns and work placements with their work
- artwork your designs
- assisting in the compilation of creative pitches and tender documentation
- other duties as may reasonably be required or requested
To reiterate, due to the collaborative nature of our work this post will require you to work in our studio office in Edinburgh.
