Cyclehoop is looking for a design engineer to join its team in London.

Cyclehoop are an award winning company based in south London designing and installing innovative bicycle parking infrastructure for clients in the UK and internationally.
We are expanding rapidly and are looking for a design engineer to join our growing team. You will work closely with the managing director on a wide range of exciting new projects including designing large cycle parking hubs, cycle shelters, cycle racks and other indoor cycle products for the home.
Candidates should have good technical and problem solving skills and experience in designing for steel fabrication. They should be experienced in using Solidwords and other 2D and 3D software.
This successful candidate’s role will be to become the product technical expert within the company and we provide training and support to achieve this.
Responsibilities:
- work closely with the managing director to design and prototype new products
- use 2D and 3D software (AutoCAD/ Adobe Suite /Solidworks/KeyShot) to produce 3D models, concept renders and detailed manufacture drawings
- produce production drawings and specifications for manufacture
- liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to discuss materials, production techniques and feasibility of production
- produce drawings, CAD blocks and visuals for clients and for the marketing department
- design and produce product collateral including installation instructions, specification sheets and ensuring this is kept up to date
- review and improve existing product range in response to market feedback, new manufacture methods, materials and technologies
- manage and organise design files on the company server ensuring all drawings are correct and up to date
- manage design software and CAD drawing templates
- other duties as and when required
Requirements:
- experience using Solidworks CAD software
- experienced in steel fabrication techniques
- experienced in producing details production drawings
- strong problem solving skills
Desirable:
- experienced using other 2D and 3D software (AutoCAD/KeyShot)
- experienced in Adobe Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Office details:
- work will be based mostly in the office but will involve visiting manufacturers, working with the team in our workshop as well as site visits to inspect projects
- we are looking for the successful candidate to start immediately
- working hours 8-5pm or 9-6pm
- permanent position with competitive salary
- office located in Sydenham, south London right next to Lower Sydenham station
