Responsibilities:
- create comprehensive drawing packs for fabrication and client approval
- aid the prototyping phase and set the standard for technical drawings
- collaborate with project managers, operations, heads of department and fabricators to ensure designs meet Zone’s standards
- communicate with suppliers fabricating from Zone’s technical drawings
- evaluate existing processes and create solutions to improve design capabilities
- work closely with the engineering team, ideating and developing concepts
- update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography and video materials
- collaborate with multiple suppliers for a wide range of materials
- establish creative direction for Zone’s brand via social media and pitch documents
- capture photographs of completed works for business use
- stay up to date with design and software trends
- champion internal and external sustainability, identifying new materials and advancements in technology, researching and identifying suppliers who align with our goals of sustainability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- proven experience in technical design and prototyping
- proficiency in using various computer software for design visualisation and development, SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience is desirable
- strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to obtain input from various stakeholders
- attention to detail and ability to enforce adherence to technical standards
- demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively
- problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify flaws and implement solutions
- familiarity with current design and software trends to ensure continuous improvement
- photography skills are a plus
- previous experience in branding and creative direction is advantageous
