Egg Collective is looking for a sales and showroom manager to join its team in New York.

The sales and showroom manager (SASM) is a highly motivated individual that acts as a beacon of Egg Collective’s (EC) exemplary standard of customer care. Leading a team of sales associates, the SASM displays excellence in client relations by modelling EC’s customer service philosophy and acting as a brand ambassador in all internal and external interactions. The SASM understands the importance of EC’s showroom, clients, and potential clients, and furthermore that every touch point and sales protocol is critical to the growth and sustainability of the brand. The SASM must continually look for innovative and compassionate ways to serve our clients while bringing in new clientele and growing the brand in alignment with the overall vision for the company.

Sales management and client procurement:

  • quickly develop an extensive understanding of the EC brand including but not limited to pricing, products, materials, process, company history and customer service philosophy
  • oversee the proper care and management of EC’s clientele across the sales team to ensure our clients receive the EC exemplary standard of customer care, guaranteeing repeat business
  • maintain EC’s reputation for excellence in customer service, with an eye to the financial/business goals of the company both in the short and long terms
  • continually improve on and utilise EC’s customer service philosophy to help inform decision making and communication with clients, keeping in mind the EC philosophy to kill EC’s difficult clients with kindness
  • maintain a book of clients that are serviced by SASM at all times – these are high-level and/or longstanding clients, as well as anomalous client interfaces such as retail partnerships, reps and or other special attention sales that may come through the sales channel (large quantity orders, etc)
  • act as the point of escalation for challenging clients and clients with issues or problems
  • direct the course correction needed to ensure clients feel as satisfied as possible with their EC experience, while managing expectations for future sales
  • spearhead and manage the lead generation initiative to continually engage with potential EC clients
  • work with MD and partners to guide new product launches, pricing structures, marketing strategies and other sales tools based on a command of the sales landscape at large in our market
  • utilise a deep understanding and knowledge base of what customers need and want from EC to inform the product offering
  • oversee, ideate and assist in organising in-house and out-of-house promotional events and/or presentations for clients and potential clients
  • develop and build on customer service/client relationship tracking strategy
  • oversee the maintenance of company CRM/sales book, ensuring that all possible client data is current

Cross department/client management:

  • manage custom pricing for sales team in conjunction with out-of-house production manager and MD
  • outline best practices for cross-departmental and customer care communications and systems
  • keep pathways of communication flowing and positive with all cross-functional teams, develop strategies to improve EC methods with teams and MD as needed to continually improve processes
  • ideate and develop customer service policies with operations coordinator and implement seamless customer service across departments

Showroom management:

  • recognise the importance of EC’s showroom as a sales tool
  • oversee the staffing, cadence and timing of the showroom hours
  • oversee and improve protocols for client appointments and the entire client experience
  • work with partners and MD to ensure the offering on the showroom floor is optimised according to sales trends and a deep understanding of the EC client
  • oversee the maintenance, appearance and operations of the showroom, ensuring it is in excellent condition at all times on every level from front of house to back of house

Staff management/human resources:

  • ensure all sales and company-wide policies/procedures are being followed
  • motivate/mentor employees where they are in their trajectory
  • conduct all direct report reviews
  • develop progressive guidance and or course correction plans as needed and follow up, ensuring each employee is supported in their efforts/path forward
  • partner with HR department on recruiting and hiring for all sales team staffing needs, including building out job descriptions and conducting interviews
  • train all sales associates ensuring they are fully autonomous within six months
  • build-out and maintain the sales operations manual ensuring all policies and procedures are updated at least annually or as the process changes to provide guidance for training purposes
  • ensure all sales associates meet/exceed their target sales goals including the lead generation initiative
  • coach sales associates individually as needed to meet their sales targets
  • assist HR department with off-boarding direct reports at the end of their employment
  • follow all HR procedures as prescribed and work with MD to develop new procedures as needed

Data analysis/collecting systems:

  • develop, collect, build on and present KPI data for company as a whole and for individual sales team performance
  • generate reports that show current and future landscape of EC’s sales trajectory, achievement of company sales goals and sales team efficacy
  • identify areas for improvement and areas of success to continue to build on
  • present data sets to MD/partners as prescribed (monthly, quarterly, yearly etc); if projections are not aligned with tracking sales/estimate figures, ideate and implement course correction methods
  • work with MD to find the best systems for CRM, POS, etc to reduce administration time as much as possible in an effort to optimise all available sales team time for selling and customer service
  • oversee the collection and updating of protocols for procurement of client resale certificates
