Job overview

As a senior interior designer at LXA, you will play a pivotal role in curating exceptional designs for hospitality and education projects. Your responsibilities will span the entire design journey, from conceptualisation to project completion. In this fee-earning position, you will independently provide our comprehensive suite of interior design services, exemplifying excellence, creativity and client-focused solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • project leadership: lead and oversee interior design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
  • full design spectrum: execute LXA’s complete range of interior design services, including concept development, space planning, material selection, FF&E specification and lighting design
  • collaborative approach: collaborate closely with the design director and senior design team to establish innovative project concepts
  • client relationships: cultivate strong client relationships, serve as a bridge between clients and the design team and ensure client visions are reflected in the final designs
  • design concept delivery: lead the delivery of design concepts, taking projects from feasibility studies through to successful handovers
  • presentation excellence: prepare compelling tender presentation materials and drive design proposals for client presentations, incorporating concept ideas, layouts and SketchUp views

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture or a closely related discipline
  • proven experience through a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in hospitality and/or education projects, highlighting your ability to take projects from concept to completion
  • minimum of ten years’ experience, with five years in the hospitality sector
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • passion for staying updated with the latest design trends, materials and technologies to bring innovative solutions to our projects
  • previous experience in leading and managing design projects, as well as collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • excellent verbal and visual communication skills to effectively present concepts to clients and team members
