Kogaa is hiring an architectural designer to join its team in Brno, Czech Republic.

Kogaa is looking for an experienced architectural designer with background in designing, detailing and leading a diverse range of spaces from public, commercial, hospitality and residential. Additional experience in retrofit and adaptive reuse is an advantage in the integration to the studio’s way of working.

In this role, you will be part of projects in all phases, from initial concept through to the final design and construction phases. We are looking for exceptional design sensibility and strong technical and communication skills at high level.

You will work closely with the design director and team to develop the design of projects and produce, coordinate and administer the technical documentation and supervision for their realisation.

Responsibilities:

  • maintain schedules and milestones for the design team throughout the project and lead day-to-day development of design
  • communicate with the design director to ensure that the design is developed according to the creative vision of the studio
  • deliver design proposals and documents to clients, partners and builders accurately
  • instruct other team members to prepare materials needed for the deliverables
  • lead the production of architectural drawing sets, for submissions for schematic design, design development and construction documents
  • lead construction administration
  • communicate with partners and contractors and fabricators during the pricing, fabrication and construction stages of a project

We require:

  • minimum of five years postgraduate experience in complex large scale design projects at all phases
  • proven experience in hospitality, office design and other sectors including residential
  • confidence in client facing and presenting
  • strong design and technical skills
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • fluent in English both written and spoken
  • experience with retrofit and adaptive reuse is a plus
  • Czech and German language appreciated
