Senior architect/office principal

Fatkin is seeking an experienced senior architect/office principal to join its team in London.

Fatkin is an 18-strong practice specialising in infrastructure and healthcare, with additional work in housing, mixed-use and commercial typologies for both public and private sector clients. Experience in any of these fields would be advantageous. The practice was established in 2014 and we have a diverse team with staff in London, Bristol and Cardiff.

The role presents an opportunity to join the Fatkin senior leadership team and to help the practice grow and flourish over the next few years with input into practice strategy, business development and design proposals, alongside the development of your own career.

As senior architect, you will oversee multiple projects across a range of sectors, scales and locations. We are looking for someone who can support members of the team to successfully run and deliver projects, whilst offering strong business and communication skills to initiate and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • promote a positive practice culture and aspiration to achieve the best quality design possible on every project
  • encourage and support the team to work collaboratively and effectively
  • build and maintain client relationships, including seeking out new opportunities and managing expectations
  • support the directors by providing leadership to the London office and participate in senior team strategy workshops and business development
  • provide senior level technical and design support to the practice team
  • practice our values of creativity, flexibility, sustainability and inclusivity

Requirements:

  • five to ten years’ post-qualification experience in practice
  • evidence of leading teams, running projects and managing clients across all RIBA stages
  • experience of using Windows, Revit and Adobe suite is preferred
  • excellent written and graphic presentation skills
  • right to work in the UK and familiarity with UK planning system/building regulations/law
